relocate our ringneck again orleavehim behind?
Hi everyone I haven't posted in about four years but now I'm in serious need of good advice. We first got our IRN five years ago while living in Dubai. Recently we relocated to Malaysia and had no problem bringing our bird with us. Initially we thought we would stay here for a few years but now we h...

which type of friend for an IRN?
hi everyone. I need some advice from all you experts. We would like to get bibou, our female ringneck a friend but we're not sure which type of birdie to get her? She's bonded very very well with hubby and we think if we get another female she will be extremely jealous. On the other hand we dont wan...

Datsun I think with human children it easier. Not because you love them less than your pets but birds especially are so dependant on humans. They are stuck all day in their cage and have to depend on someone to feed them, play with them, clean their cage etc. At least a child can say what he wants a...

Well, everyone Bibou is gone and the house feels so empty. This is the first time she's away from us and it's really very difficult. We cancelled two trips last year because we didn't want to leave her and I'm so tempted to do the same again. They placed her in a huge cage which looks very much like...

Mikaela Bibou sleeps with her foot tucked in as well. I think they all sleep like that don't they. I read somewhere that it's a sign they're healthy.

Hi everyone. Hubby and I are going away for 6 weeks and will have to board Bibou for the entire time. We went to check out the place today and it's really nice. She will have her own huge cage with toys but they said we had a choice. Either they could place her next to the other birds (i saw a coupl...

Hi Mikaela. Thanx for replying so quickly. Well, I have already told hubby that the next pet we get had better not be female or he's in big trouble. It is a little annoying that after all the hard work I've put in, he just waltzes in and gets all the love and cuddles but maybe it's a blessing in dis...

HELP!!!! Jealous bird
Ok I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but I'm at my wits end now. My ringneck has become extremely jealous of me...to the point that she tries to attack me. She has bonded unbelievably with my husband although technically she is my bird. I feed her, clean her cage, play with her, sing ...

why is my bird hungry all the time?
Ok so she gets her breakfast in the morning then she cries for my toast when i'm having my breakfast. Throughout the day she gets fruit and nuts and then her dinner before bedtime. However, even when she's sleeping and she hears the sound of a packet she will run from her bed to her perch and wait f...

ooh they do soooo get upset. The first time we had bibou's wings clipped she wouldn't speak to us for a whole week. Just turned her back everytime we came near her. Don't worry. It will soon be over. Our Irn is about 7 or 8 months old. She also has a pale ring around her neck. Apparently the females...

wing-clipping, what a difference
So we finally found a vet who was able to clip bibou's wings properly. And what a difference it has made. She has become such a sweetie again. None of that screaming that had me going slightly cuckoo last week. At least now when she screams i can just leave the room and she stops. Before she would s...

We were told Bibou was a boy and from the beginning we would say what a good boy. He picked it up very quickly and there's not a day that goes by that he doesn't tell himself what a good boy he is. Now, however we are convinced that he is in fact a she. Bitchy behaviour, pale ring around the neck. S...

Well I've had Bibou clipped twice in about 4 months and she's still flying around. I don't know why they refuse to clip the primary feathers as Melika suggested. Mikaela it's so funny you said that. My husband is on a trip again and when he called about an hour ago i did just that. I put it on speaker and he spoke to bibou. I will do that everytime he calls so bibou won't feel abandoned. Actually I thought bibou loved us equally but sometimes i'm not so sure...

HELP! screaming parrot
Hope someone can help me with this one. For the past couple of weeks bibou has started the most annoying screaming behaviour. I was just wondering if these birds feel the cold and how do you know if they're getting cold or hot? What's the right room temperature for them to sleep in?

It's quite scary because it can affect any country because birds migrate and not even governments can stop that right? Jordan has stopped any import of chicken to the country. Hubby h...
