I've had a couple of face nips. He mostly likes to get my ear if I'm not paying attention.
Silly aren't they, keep doing what you're doing. He'll come around. I didn't think my Bobby would, but he has.

Oh hun, I am so sorry too, but if a bird dies so quick then yes I would think it was already sick. What did the shop say, did you get a post morton done? Really needed, in case you want to get another bird…
so sad, you really did want to love him.

Re: so my birdie is bleeding
Aww, a lot of people are against pulling the feathers, but I had to take my Bobby in to see the Vet in June and he had two removed from his left wing, he'd already broken off one, then bent two more. In the end he had no flight feathers so was a complete lopsided bird. They do grow back quite quick ...

Hello everyone. I've tried the search function and discovered some differences in things so I'd just really like to get a sense of weight from you all. My lil ringneck is getting his ring :) In amongst the heavy moult he's been having. Such a scruff. I thought I was going to have a bald bird. He has started showing a black ring around his neck. This week it was just a couple of feathers on either side of his neck, but it's spreading the more the pi...

Very impressed with your birds. They are beautiful and very clever. :) I've just started training Bobby to fetch his balls and drop them to me, but he seems to more like going for my fingers sometimes too... oops. He's lost so many feathers, looking very scruffy. He's also growling and regurgitating...

Aww, reading this is inspiring. My Bobby is getting so cheaky at the moment. From flying to my hand while I'm picking up stuff he wants from his cage but dropped to jumping across while we're having dinner! and robbing off my plate! So funny but don't want him to do it all the time. :) bobby has bee...

As we've headed into our summer, 20 plus degrees. Bobby's started to drop feathers again. When we got him he lost around 6 but this week alone he's dropped over 30, some medium ones and some larger ones. But mostly the little ones, and the diddy ones with fluffy bits attached. This is without the to...

Ahh now I can see why it's so easy to get them squawking all the time. Although we try and ignore it sometimes it's impossible. Will try and leave the room and see what that does. Yes, I know not a good idea to sneak in for a feel. But I've never touched him in 8 weeks. He's not that kinda bird yet....

I'm really not sure what to say, but Bobby squaks a lot too, in the morning for a few hours and sometimes in the evening. I never hear it as I'm in work, but the other half is at home. Re: Do you think my IRN is plucking out his feathers?
Bobby's lost 8 feathers this week alone, without all the little ones. This bit of moulting has him really cranky too, he actually grabbed my nose while I was talking to him the other day. I too think his chest feathers look a little ratty. But the bigger feathers he broke and had pulled have pins wa...

Having chatted to our CAG's vet today it seems that sometimes they do just knock them and with the blood feathers acting like a straw even if it's well clotted it will always lose some blood with a knock or flight. Judging from my time caring for my former conure, it is expected the bird to sleep 12-15hrs in a day. Wish us luck, and I'll post what the Vet thinks in a little while.
