chattering noises while resting
My ringneck chatters a lot and makes squeaking noises while he's in the nap position, you know when he turns his head and rests it on his back. I'm wondering does anyone have any experience with this behavior? Why do they do that?

Billie grinds her teeth when she is sleeping.

I believe both sleep mumbling and beak grinding while sleepy are normal behaviors that just signify that the bird is relaxed.

My baby makes those noises too, it means you have a content bird, who may also be a bit sleepy

Its so cute when they do this. Nothing to worry about, just a comfort thing in my opinion.

Mine does it all the time!!! It is the cutest thing ever at first i was really worried that something was wrong. I have had Gizmo since 5ish week olds.

Definitely normal (and extremely cute), and not just confined to IRNs. My budgie used to chatter up a storm with his head tucked under his wing. I often wonder whether it means they're dreaming

my Copurnicus makes those squeaky mumbles in his sleep too. He gets quite loud, it's adorable. I was wondering if he would continue to squeak-talk when he got older? He's only 13 weeks old at the moment. Also, do both males and females do it? I don't know if he's a boy or girl so I was trying to get clues out of 'his' behavior

My Bobby never shuts up. He'll be falling asleep, making all kinds of noise, bobbing his head, eyes pinning. He's so funny. I've recently videoed him, to put on vimeo
