I would take him to the vet first to rule out any health issues, then if there are not health issues then talk with the vet to see if there may be behavioral reasons for plucking. It can be stress, a new place, or anything-but rule out health issues first.

Yes, with a proper diet and there is a forum here that talks about their diet, you will start to see a change in his feathers and when he has his molt that's where you will see the change. My IRN had flat feet and they were reddish and not puffy when I first got him and the vet said that was from be...

I can't tell if your bird is a he or a she. From what I understand they start to show a ring about 2-3 years. You may want to have he/she DNA sexed. As far as your bird issues you are going to have to get his/her to break your bird out of the screaming habits. You will have to ignore his/her screami...

Finally Some Great Progress!!!
Well Pacman my adopted IRN has finally had a breakthrough. I decided to take him out of his cage by towel and bring him into the living room where he can really get used to me and I can interact with him more outside of his cage. I put him on the back of my sofa so that he can sit while my husband a...

Well, Pacman's feather's are growing in nicely and I am giving him flaxseed oil to stop his beak from drying out and aloe vera in his water for his feathers. I knew he was back to normal when all of his pellets were eaten and he is very vocal again. Thank you once again for your prayers and thoughts...

Congratulations on your new bird!!! Make sure you get him checked out by the vet. Give him time to get used to his new environment. Don't worry vets know how to handle agressive birds. Continue to move slowly around him, and talking quietly to him. When you have to reach your hands in the cage talk ...

re: losing confidence
You may want to invest in something called a " Buddy Perch" which is sold online. It is a perch attached to plexi glass which shields your hands from getting bitten and thereby you can gain your confidence back. You may have to get him used to the perch, but it seems to be working for me, ...

You were right, he is starting to return to normal. Pacman-that's his name is taking food out of my hand again, coming out of his cage, and playing with the other birds. He is even coming back on my lap again. What a guy!!! I feel so much better.

Well, I have had my adopted ringneck for about 2 months now. He will come to me if I have food and will take it out of my hand. I also have a rescue that is not tame. You have to establish yourself as a friend and someone that will not hurt him. Hello
Hello, I just adopted a full-grown lutino Indian Ringed-Neck. He is a beautiful bird. I am glad I found this sight since there is little to no information about these birds. He is not hand-tamed, but responds to my face. If there are any suggestions in hand-taming an older Ringed-Neck and getting hi...
