Re: Talking

Jacques is 7 years old and does not talk. Very often he makes baby noises that sounds like he is trying to talk. Will he ever talk is he way too old to start talking? Thanks, Michelle

Re: where do I start and should I?

Thank you for your response. I heard that I would have to buy a new cage because Jacques would never let another bird in his cage. I was also told that I would have to take the babies at 3 weeks to start hand-feeding them. Well, that would kinda be impossible because I teach so I would not be home t...

where do I start and should I?

Hi guys, it's been a very long time since I've been on this web-site. I have been thinking a little lately about possibly breeding my IRN. He is the only bird I have and is 7 years old. He is tame and well-bonded with me. I also a dog in the house and they are friends. Well, I have so many questions...

Hi, Just read your message and wanted to respond. I don't think this would be a good idea. I would have a few concerns about having your IRN outside. Two main reasons would be cold weather or predators. They are tropical birds and I don't think they could tolerate extreme cold. My IRN gets cold if i...

Hey guys, I believe Jacques will be 4 years old this May, but he doesn't talk. Do you think he will ever talk or should I just accept that it would have happened by now? I love my little guy whether he ever talks or not. But... it would have been awesome if he did. Has any IRN ever started talking l...

My IRN has never talked. I would LOVE for him to talk, but I don't think he will now because he is almost 4 years old. Should I accept that he won't ever talk??

obssesion

Hi, need some opinions. My IRN has started a very nasty habit and I'm not sure what to do about it. He has always been very attached to one of his toys which is a little kitty mirror. He obviously thinks this is his mate. At one time I had taken his kitty mirror because he does not talk and I though...

I decided to skip on having the puppy. At least for now. I'm too afraid b/c Jacques (the ringneck) means way too much to me. I may attempt it one day, but not now. Michelle

Bird and a dog???

I'm have been trying to decide whether I should get a puppy or not. I have an IRN that is 3 years old and I love him to death. I have always had dogs, but not since I have the bird. I don't know whether I should take on a puppy or not. I don't know way to start with training a dog with a bird. Is it...

If I get another bird when Jacques is about 3 yrs. or so, will he take to the other bird and be able to play with him/her. That raises another question, do I get a male or female since Jacques is a boy?

I'm just kinda of curious what you all think about caiques and conures?? If I was ever to get another bird, which kind do you recommend? Keep in mind I already have Jacques, my IRN. I have no idea what that means. I guess she was trying to imply that you can't tame them or something. Jacques is very tame. He kisses, shakes, turns and retrieves. He is very attached to me. I really like the bird shows. I've been to, two shows. Actually, that is where I bought Jacques' (my blue IRN). I never see to many IRN at the shows and once someone at the show told me that they are "junk yard birds". Of course, that did not go over too well with me when I love my little baby so......

For those of you that are keeping up with the story. I just called the man on the phone and stayed very calm and cool. I told him what I thought.
