If I get another bird when Jacques is about 3 yrs. or so, will he take to the other bird and be able to play with him/her. That raises another question, do I get a male or female since Jacques is a boy?

I am so sorry for your friend. It's amazing how attached we get to our pets. I still could cry when I think of our pets that we have lost over the years. I have to believe there is a heaven for our pets. Oh, by the way, I did get my mom another canary!!!!! He is so....... pretty. Michelle

Well, today was Jacques' first day without his mirrors (toys). He woke up screaming and upset realizing they were gone. I feel so bad, but I stuck to it and did not give in. He had no interest in his oher toys. Hope I made the right decision. Michelle
