My female is playing in her nesting box. She really isn't pulling anything out. she just sit in there . She has no eggs. is she truying to tell me something? ty for any help.
The Hens usually sit in the nest box for about 2-3 weeks prior to laying eggs, what she is doing is packing the nesting material down. Eggs should appear in the not so distant future
thank you all for the help. I haven't seen them mating . However he is picking at her. and they do feed each other alot. She hogs most of the food lol. They are both pulling out feathers from each other.
Funny how different species of birds are. My King Parrots have been an item for 3 years but I can't get them to breed. The female practically lives in her breeding box but nothing happens. Hubby thinks she's frigid. Thought about a bit of Barry White and some porn I've spoken to a few people who breed Kingys and they have all told me how hard it is to get them to breed. Still trying.
Thanks Jeremy. I haven't tried paperbark. I put other branches in there and try a really varied diet - costs me a fortune at the green grocers each week! I think I spend more on the birds' food than on our family Not a lot of material around on king parrots. No sites like this.
