Can Indian Ringnecks & Eclectus Parrots bond?

Seasons Greetings y'all. I need some advise....we have had 'Ringo' for just on 1 year. She is approx 18 months old, I read that it takes them about 1 year to really settle in & this is true. She is really comfortable with the two of us now. She showers with me every morning & is out of the ...

Covering the cage?

I have always covered my birds at night (before Ringo I had peachfaces). Ringo didn't like it at first, as he likes to stay up as late as we do....but I think that he's more upset at the fact that we are putting him back in the cage. The main reason that I cover him is that it keeps him quieter in t...

Where are you from?

We are from Beerwah, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We are both Queensland born & bred. Don't really know why they call it 'The Sunshine Coast', haven't seen much sunshine lately. Maybe we should rename it 'The Boggy Coast'. But still the best state in Australia!!!

Weird Obsession

Luckily we haven't experienced this problem, but all I can think of is to coat the leads with something that doesn't taste too good to them. For example "Stop 'N Grow", it deters people from biting their nails, goes on like nail polish & tastes terrible . It isn't poisonous, so wouldn't harm the...

We've had Ringo for 3 months now & he doesn't like the spray bottle or bowls of water either. I started taking him into the shower with me & just letting him run around on the top section, when he knows we're heading for the shower he gets VERY excited. Now that he's comfortable in there, he...

Neighbours of the Irwins

Hi there! Our housing estate in Beerah actually borders 'The Australia Zoo', we can actually hear the elephants from our house. It's not unusual to see Steve or Terri around town & they are always friendly & give a big smile. He is SSSSSOOOOO cute in real life, much better than on the telly....

Randy IRN?

Hi Ho! I have a query & was wondering if anybody could assist. We have Ringo, a blue IRN, we think is a male & still quite young. From the moment we got him, he has stepped up for both of us & been very affectionate. We get a bit of bite, but not much. When Michael puts his hand out to p...

Thank you! I've got that vibe allready....I used to pop on & browse every lunch hour for about a month before I introduced myself & found it very entertaining & informative. We think that Ringo is a male & I describe his colouring as powder blue.....exactly like Kai. I'm looking forw...

Thanks Jen! They certainly do have personality & make themselves part of the family. I can't have children so I REALLY substitute my pets as family. I do have 1 question allready.....Ringo loves to hop on top of the glass shower partitions whilst I am showering. He carries on if I hop in without...
