Chook was Drooling

Post by Jade »

I don't know what is going on but last night Chook was sitting on my shoulder and puffed himself up for a snooze. He then started grinding his beak and then I saw a big spit come out of his beak onto my shirt. It was clear and just looked like excess saliva. It wasn't vomit like when he is 'feeding' me, it was definite drool.

I freaked because he has never done that before and he just went back to sleep. I thought maybe he was getting a cold or something but this morning he is 100% fine.

Has anyone else's bird drooled on them? Is this normal?

Beak grinding is the highest form of saying "I am so content and happy" :!: He was probably just out like a light and didnt swollow. My husband has the same problem, as do all 3 of his kids.

Your birdie loves you :!: :D

My birds have never had 'snot' come out of them. o_0
or excess amounts of saliva either.

So I can't really say.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

He hasn't done it since. Just the once. I just got concerned because it was a big blob.

If he is drooling then he and Jamie have more in common than I thought!! I'm waiting for Chook to start snoring next!

Did I mention that he mimics a smokers cough too (Jamie's not mine)?
