Can a ringneck lay only one egg?
I have a pair of ringnecks the mail is blue and female is green.Last friday they laid their first egg but unfortunately four days later she has still only one egg as I expected that she will lay more because her belly seems a bit swollen as if she has more eggs. She is spending a lot of time in the box however hasnt started to incubate the egg yet.Could it be possible that she will lay more eggs and is it normal to lay only one egg?btw she is 2 years old and the first time breeding.

Re: Can a ringneck lay only one egg?
Hi i am unsure of how long it is between eggs being layed but they can lay no eggs at all if to young.
But if they are old enough they could lay btween 1 to 7 eggs and not all may be furtile.(That my be why shes not sitting on them or she is just not a good sitter.) females can be furtile from about 1 but males will usually be about 2.
If you notice that the boldge is still there sometimes they get egg bound which meens the eggs is stuck, i am unsure of what you can do yourself somebody else may be able to fill you in on that.
But i know you can take it to an avian vet.
Thanks Glenn
