My second batch

Post by pinkdevil »

....of rainbow lorikeets.

These are full brother/sister to the clutch earlier this year.

They are about 10 weeks of age now and full of energy. I don't think they know how to sit still lol

They are cuddley Skybaby. Lorikeets would have to be the most affectionate bird I have ever come across or owned. They love to play non stop and always inquisitive. Even aviary bred Lories have to see what you are up to and will get into all sorts of positions to get the best view! lol

What are they like (poop wise) to clean up after?

I have been thinking of getting a pair of Chattering Lory's for a while now..

Yours look like great little characters and same as you, have always loved their nature.

Weeeeellllll.....lol

I have a towel or newspaper under their cage on the floor to catch any mess that gets through the cage gater thingy I have around the base of the cage. If there is a gap, their mess WILL get through lol

Treat it like water, where ever water can seep, so will their waste. lol Carpet etc sucks it up like a sponge.

When I let them out for play time, I usually place a towel on the floor with their toys. But they seem to like the non towel areas the best
I keep a bucket of warm water and sponge handy to quickly mop up the mess.

But I can overlook their "leaky fault", for all the fun they give. :D
