Unless the breeder had him DNA'ed, there is NO way, at that age, to tell the Irn's sex. Often, though not all breeders but I have seen many do it, breeders will say an Irn is a boy because some prefer the ring the boys develope. They want to make the sale and realize noone will be the wiser until the bird gets to be around two and by then you could care less what the sex is.

I believe my baby is a girl but none of us even know the sex of our babies until they reach sexual maturity and either get or NOT get the ring. Or unless some of us had our birds DNA'ed. Doubt many have, though I know a few here did.

Girls tend to act like girls though, they are agressive, prideful, strut around, try to train you... very bitchy and moody. Sure some boys can act that way too. So, I suppose we are back at square one. Noone knows or will know until he gets much older or you have him DNA'ed. All you can get is an 'good guess prediction'. Sorry, wish I knew myself. But when you think about it, really doesnt matter because you fall so in love with them.

Compare your boy to my girl (my avatar) Pay special attention to beak placement and feathers. Boys beaks sit higher and their feathers are more relaxed.

Girls beaks sit lower and they keep their feathers alot tighter. *Maybe* this will help you. I am about 85% sure I have a girl. Let me know if your baby looks like mine!
