guys, im sorry t ask about this again...

tango feather drop alot lately....really alot...

donna mention about the babyt molt, but i think not so..it really alot...

last time the feather already grow back, but now drop really alot..like every time he scratch his head, a few small feathers drop, a few....

he head getting bald, ho his boddy...

hole on his head

his body, can almost see the skin

i have seen new grown feather on the face, but he lost many many more this time...he did not lose any of his big feather though....
is it normal for 5 month IRN to have this ?

please help...im so worry...my previous birds never drop feather till like that before...

i dont have a pic of oliver but he looked just like that when he molted

All my birds have just gone through a heavy moult. Most didn't even have tails for awhile. They are starting to look more presentable now though.

If you are worried you could take tango to the vet and have him checked over to put your mind at ease, but I to, think it is a moult.

thanks...but he is only less than 5 month old....

i wanted to bring him to vet...

i rang up a alot today, they don't have service for avian, the only 1 is the national bird park doctor,`and he charge real expensive...

tango feather seems to be so loose, when i stroke him, the feather keep droping...
really hope he is molting...im afraid he got feather disease or somethink like that...

but, he play and eat well ...only today seems to be in bad mood...

Yoda was a little patchy when he was 5 months, could be molting, but I'd keep an eye on it. It must be hard not having specialist care near by. Avian vets here are not as common as normal vets.

yea...im worried if i need the doctor...and i don't know where to go to...

hope tango really molting...sorry guys...may be this is a small isue...but i have never seen any of my fid got molt till like that...thats why im woried...

guys...you know what...i saw something under tango's tail feather...i was not moving...so i thought it wsa nothing...but i wasn't sure...i check carefully, and.......

it that was mitesssssss...................

i don't know how he got it...i think from the wild IRN...sometimes some wild IRN come and dance outside tango cage when im sunnign tango....

may be he get the mite from there...

but now he is clean as i sprayed the mite spray...

guys, other than mite spray, is there any other wayto get off the mite?

o, i think it is possible reason for tango feather dropping....

Yeah mites are a problem when there are wild birds around your birds.

I don't know of any other way of getting rid of mites other than spraying your bird and cleaning and spraying the cage and accessories. I asked my vet about treatment in water or a "spot" treatment like is used for fleas in dogs but he said that there is nothing like that available that is safe for birds here in Australia.

yes there is , exmite and liveraid in drinking water.

pinkdevil there is also a spot treatment and i think must be the better not only for mites and lice but for worms too, its name Ivermectin, many companies produce it.

I asked my vet about Ivermectin as I had heard of people using it on their birds. He said he would not recommend using Ivermectin as it would kill birds over time. So I decided not to take the chance.

Vets have a hard time recommending any homeopathic medicine

Luckily there are some vets that do practice homeopathic medicine (mine does)

Oh dear, wild birds do bring mites and lice, so I would keep him away from wild birds from now on.
Mites can become serious for the bird if left untreated, there is lots of sprays and spot treatments around. I would research and find one asap. You can buy over the internet if you cannot find them in your area.

hi...thansk guys...

i sprayed him with the mite pray...no more mite... :lol:

but im gone spray him agian tommorow or the day after to make sure...

his feather dropping rate has gone down too, and the fecial feather start to regrow...hehe... :lol:
