Hi from Brisbane

Post by Jo »

Hi, it's Jo from Brisbane, Australia! I think this site is fantastic - heaps of info. Although I've been a birdie fan for more than 20 years, I'm all for sharing info and learning more about IRNs - how to make their life happy and fun.

I've had birds since I was 7 when I got my first budgie. Then at 17 my first tiel. And now I have my beautiful IRN who is a 3yo green male 'Indy' (not too original with the name there...) He's been with me for all but 8 weeks of his 3yrs.

Indy shares my place with my 9yo female tiel Charlie (yes, she had a gender crisis during her first few years) and my 5yo male tiel Gizmo.
8)

Indy is a great friend...is rather tame and loves a face scratch...but hates a tail pat. Although he's not shown any interest in talking as yet - not due to lack of trying on my part though...but I'm persistent...I'm hoping he'll say something one day if only to shut me up! And for some reason he goes absolutely berko when I vacuum...jumps into his water dish for a bath and flaps continuously...though it's quite entertaining. :P

Welcome to the family :D Can't wait to get to know you better and even see pics

The vacuuming/birds going crazy and bathing is a common thing with IRN's, just one of those strange quirks that make them so entertaining.

Glad to have you aboard.

:D Welcome to the flock Jo! Yep, birds don't like their tails touched much. My 2 snap and growl if I touch anywhere near the tail. So strange that some of our birds jump in water and splash around too. Can't wait to hear all about your lil ones adventures!

Hello Jo and welcome aboard!
Make sure to introduce your flock to us! We'd love to see pic and video. An interesting story about them would be nice to read.

Hi Jo;'
I'm in Brissie too (well just a wee bit northish!)

AND ... my girl is named Indy as well! That is what her previous owners called her as she was bought from the Gold Coast around Indy time!
