New member from Ohio

Post by birdcoop3 »

Hello. I am a new member from Ohio and love birds.I was reading all I can on IRN's and Quakers when I came across this site. I have a cockatiel and a canary. My cockateil is about 5 and my canry will be 6. I also had a baby parakeet which I was teaching to talk. He was doing great! But one day we came home and he was on the bottom of his cage dead.I have no idea what could have happened! No cleaner fumes, evrything was fine when we left and actually we was not even away for very long,3 hrs tops!! I was devistated and said no-more birds.! But at a petstore I was at they had a Quaker and a IRN which were very affectionate and both good talkers, well that done it!! Now, I want another bird!! LOL. I do not know when or what yet.Between another Parakeet,a IRN, or a Quaker. I do not know of any breeders around Ohio that I would be able to get a baby at though??? :?: I hope eventually to find a nice place that I can trust to buy a baby from. Some that I have been to around here discust me to know end.Birds they breed living in such awful conditions. Well anyways, getting upset now so I better quit!! Thanks for the great site to read on and post messages.I hope to find alot of new friends here to chat ''birds'' with!!

HI,
I know of a breeder in Ohio. I bought a baby Irn from him in May. He has some great birds. Some of the friendliest I have ever seen. Here is his website. You can get his phone number and address there also.

HI,
My fault, I misspelled it. www.forestparkaviaries.com. My bird is great. As a matter of fact, I am going to buy another bird from him I believe. He still has the website. I was just there this morning. He has updated it. He has some great birds. He goes to all of the bird fairs in Ohio. It lists all of them too. He will even give directions to the fairs. I'm going to the one in Youngstown on the 24th. That is where I'll pick up my new one if I decide that's what I want. Let me know if you get to the website.

Good Luck,

Hi, Michelle, I live in Ohio too. Bird fairs are fun! I went to my first one in Eastlake (Cleveland) last year right before I got my first IRN. I would have liked to have gone to the one in Columbus on July 17th but had other plans for that day.

I was torn between the two breeds myself, quaker verses IRN. Never had a bird in my life. Went with the IRN and never looked back. I recommend the IRN ONLY if you want a bird that is a BIG part of your life and gives little back except for the fun of watching them (IRN's arent sweet, usually). I love catering to her so she must give me much more than I realize but I assure you, it isnt hugs and kisses  More like bites and dirty looks but she has her sweet moments. Hens are MEAN but I have finally made her see I am not scared of her lil butt. Now, Im the boss when she says so.
