Are you sure this bird is hand fed, hand tame? It sure sounds as if it isn't. But, you can try this, open the cage door and let him come out by himself. Most birds are territorial about their homes. I know my IRN is. But once he's out he is such a sweetheart.
Let me know how it goes.

don't give up

It just takes time. When i got my wild IRN he would flap around in his cage when ever i got close, but after a couple of weeks he started to settle down then i would let him out and give him some treats (like peas, apples, corn) so he would get to know that i was no danger to him. Now at 7months he's sitting on shoulders and playing with toys etc.

Don't give up, just keep hand feeding and talking to him, he'll get use to you.

Hello

Welcome!

Taming a ringneck takes time and lots of patience. A two month old baby who has not been handfed is difficult to tame, however, it’s young and very impressionable. Please keep in mind this is not an impossible task. It’s going to take dedication and time.

Start off by offering treats to your ringneck. Ringnecks really enjoy food and will do just about anything for it. Do not force yourself upon the ringneck by grabbing it or pulling it away from its cage. Just gently coax him until he/she feels its safe enough to be away from his cage.

After you’re sure he is confident away from the cage start with coaxing him on your finger. Just be patient and find creative ways for him to interact with you though treats. Time will pass and he’ll start to enjoy your company.

Remember to be consistent. Ringnecks are very social creatures and curiosity will get the best of him, especially because he is only 2 months old. So in time you’ll have a find that could be with you twenty or more years. Good luck in your new adventure and friendship!

Hope this helps
