i have been training Amazon for a while now, he is now 8mths old and is trying to talk as Jade talks, but also getting better with his tricks, the pass few weeks i have been teaching him turn aoround with a clicker and now ihave taken the clicker away and saying good boy before he gets his treat,.

What i want to know is when i stop giving him the treat when he does it, i am going to take away either the hand movement or the words to this movement as well, but we are moving onto another trick while still doing this one.

Any help would be good. He is doing so well and im so proud of my baby boy.

Aww! What a smart lil birdie. Go Amazon! I'd keep the words. I find it much easier when they get 'the word'. Although, my 2 arn't doing too well with tricks. Jibby is a bit stuck in his ways and Yoda seems to have an attitude problem that I hope he gets over soon. I hope you get some help. Sorry I'm not much help here. Goodluck with lil Amazon. Sounds like he's really learning alot! :wink:

Yea Amazon is the name of my indian ringneck lol

I did soem more with him yesterday we spent 10min doing it and i took away the hand movement and kept the words and OMG he did it, he did his turn around with just the word's i was so happy i had to show people when i went to shoe them he didnt want to play the game lol.

i will try and get a video up sometime with him doing it, i think waving is next on the trick list.

How old is Amazon? Do you guys think 3 month old is old enough for learning tricks? Like turn around, flip, wave, play mini golf, and put the ball in the basket, my lovy only understand shake hand tricks, but do you think she is old enough to learn these other tricks? :?:

Amazon is 8mths old, i started training him when he was bout 4-5mths old, starting with just listening to the clicker and giving him a treat when teh clicker went off, then i introduce a target stick (chop stick) and everytime he touched it he got a click then a treat, then i started moving it so he would follow the stick then touch it he got a click then a treat.

I have only been doing the turn around and things like that from 6mths
