Clicker Training

Post by Hestia »

Has anyone here ever tried clicker training with their birds. If so how well do your IRN respond to this? Just curious and thought I'd get all your thought on the subject.
thanks

Hello Hestia,

Yes, I did use clicker training with Archimedes. He really enjoys the training technique and learns so fast from it. If you look at the video segment of this site, you’ll see Archimedes doing a few tricks when he was a baby.

I am a huge fan of clicker training and I believe many owners should dabble with this topic. Nothing works like positive reinforcement. I believe this technique really forced bird enthusiasts and parrot behaviorists to reevaluate their work. Positive reinforcement is key to having a successful relationship with parrots.

So much can be taught and behavior modified through this method.

Good post!

Best wishes,
