moulting

Post by Peanut »

Peanut had started loosing feathers about a week or do ago... When we came back from up north (we were gone a day) Meatball had started to moult as well. Do birds usually moult at the same time? Or do they see the other bird moulting, and think it would be fun to pull out their feathers too? :? Im confused

I think my birds have a schedule to be sure that there is always someone in the family dropping feathers, but I may just be paranoid

Gilbert and Yoda didnt moult at the same time. But Yoda is still a baby and probebly wont moult for another year. I think moulting time is an individual bird thing. Birds usually mate around the same time so I could be wrong.
