jeremy .. a question of timing

Post by angie »

Sudden and exciting trip to florida in Dec/jan for 6 weeks. I leave in 13 weeks - 9th dec.

If i hand raise the babies, they should be about 7 weeks old just before I leave. Will they still be on 3 feeds a day or so, how weaned will they be ?

Depending how many hatch etc. one will stay with us (so my daughter can keep up the feeding and weaning), one will be for the young girl across the road who will help me during the feeding process so she will pretty much know what to do. Any others that hatch or survive are going - 1 to the girl at work who wants to buy a baby and one probably to the breeder down the road.

Do you think it will be ok or am I pushing it too fine for hand rearing now ?

Plus Mickey and Mallory (now placed in a new home as a breeder) the wild females, Mickey is now paired with Kai and they are about to be parronts.

It should be alright if everyone knows what they are doing, but Ringnecks get tricky when they wean.
