puts his head up and shoulders out
like this
Image

gets moody towards my wife

loves me

loves my wife but if i come close occasionally she/he will bight my wife
so i think he is a she and is jelous

also puts his/her head down beak on the pirch and waits for me , he has started doing this towards my wife aswell

coco is nearly 2 years old now and the ring is only slightly dark on her neck
is the ring meant to be very dark ???

Female for two reasons:

1. At her age she should be ringing out more, although they can take up to 3 but thats rare.

2. And most importantly, hard to find a male ringneck willing to assume that position, let alone hold it. They are entirely 'to cool' for that'. The head back and neck exposed is strong female behavior.

Does the bird coo? If it does, I have a 20 bill on female.

Also, the feet. Close together or far apart (wing wide). Close together, huh?

It would help me more to see a profile pic or any pic so I can see the birds beak placement. Males tend to have much higher and more protruding beaks. Whereas, females tend to have flat... lower beaks.

Compare Qwennie and Dani's Babies. You'll see what I mean.

That's what my Byndi boo does, and she's a she. So I'm thinking you gots a female on your hands. Like Mik said too, if she's 2 you'd be seeing signs of a ring by now too.

Hugs,
Jen

we have been waiting and waiting for the ring to appear

but being the first IRN we have had we had no idea how the hens act,

but never the less we love her so much,, never thought a bird could have so much character and give so much emotion
