It's a....BOY?!!

Post by xo Missi »

So! They called me with the results of Baby's DNA test and informed me that, "It''s a boy!" lol Umm...I thought we decided that Baby is a female because when I cuddle with "him", "he" throws "his" head back and chatters and clucks and pins "his" eyes. Only females do that??? Or is it a juvinile thing? I'm utterly confused. I am also paranoid that they may have gotten the test mixed up at the lab (is this possible?) so I may get "him" rechecked at "his" vet appointment Monday. Give me some advice, please!

People told me George was actually a female because he will coo. The pet store even thought he was a she, the lab says he is a he. So unless the labs are screwing up the tests I think its just that we have young birds that haven’t matured yet.

indie does both male and female things.maybe its just what birds do.maybe they are copying the other birds that they were with before. They also say males beaks are a different colour to females.

Thats up to you hun, I dont *know* Baby is a boy. I just know Baby is a boy. That make sense? I like the wait... like being pregnant

I wouldnt mess with it unless its important to you to know. Most of us wait. Thats half the fun!

Opps, I should say *my* Baby. When we talk, if I just say Baby... I mean mine. I'll say 'your Baby' otherwise.

 If I knew you had a BABY before I joined, I may not have called mine BABY!!
The only reason I want to know and care so much is because I don't want to call my Baby "he" or "she" until he gets the ring to find out I was wrong. Make sense??

Another thing, I guess I will just call Baby "HE" from here on out...so everyone, Baby is now a "he". It has been so hard for me because I have been callinng him "her" for like a month now *sigh*

the waiting game really sucks. DNA tests aren't 100 percent positive...there have been mix ups and such...but for now I'd go with what the test said...Be glad you don't have an albino like me...there is NO waiting game LOL

its not a bad thing calling baby a girl because once they start talking they mix things they learn, for example we thought indie was a girl because the pet shop said (she) was older and didnt have a ring so she was a girl, now because we said hey girl he now says things like tiffany come here girl, and things like that.with the calling him baby maybe if you changed the spelling a little or called him babe like babe ruth.but i wouldnt worry about re testing because if it does say female then you will have to do a third test incase the first one was right and the second wrong.

*sigh* I don't even know where Baby came from. No leg band or anything so I can't figure out what color his parents are. I wish I knew! I can't wait til he stars talking, though. We're teaching him French as well as English! I hope it doesn't confuse him. We're starting off simple for him like "bonjour beau parroquet" and "je t'aime". It will be funny if he starts speaking Frenglish!!

I intentionally talk to Baby as a female so when he talks to me it is in the correct gender.

Otherwise he would be saying to me: Come on boy or your a preeetty boy. I like when he calls me a pretty girl -giggle-

I think its a great idea to speak in the opposite gender because then the bird speaks to you gender correct.

Thats what I did -shrug-

That's a great idea! I don't really say boy or girl to my Baby. I just say pretty Baby or pretty parrot (beau parroquet) or step up Baby (and so on and so fourth). My boyfriend is the one that says hello Baby boy, isn't that silly :)

not really silly, when he calls him that. indie says come here boy and come here girl, because we have a male boxer and 2 females so when they get called he hears that.but they do mix things in together. at the moment he is yelling reggie at the dog.
