Never again...

Post by Mikaela »

Im never leaving Baby again. If he cant go, I cant go. He was withdrawn and pouty. Then he just went to the bottom of the cage and paced for what my son said would be hours.

He did NOT want to come from his cage and didnt. Until he saw me... so precious... he literally lept onto me from the back of his cage. These things came jump once they get past a yr... FAR!

I Hey Baby'ed! him to death and he pinned and contact called a few times until he settled down. Now, he wont go back into his cage unless I am very forceful... scared Im going to run off and leave him.

Other than an over-attachment (we got back this morning) he is back to his old self but he is full-flighted now and I just dont like his attitude when he can fly, to be honest with you so I have to get that taken care of.

Point is: It is very true that these birds are overly attached to us and we need to be sensitive to that. So, I wont be leaving Baby ever again. Its almost like they go into a 'if she is gone, I dont want to live' trance. Hard to explain but not good. :(

that is such a good story. I can sorta relate my dude, who has spent most of his life in my room has been sent into our garage for a few days because we are remodeling a few things, he is so mad at me he even tried to fly away, and almost did too, eventhough his wings are clipped he still flew like thirty feet in to a tree in my nieghbors yard. Luckily he stepped up but bit me while doing so. I am glad that he was so happy to see you though!!!
