A new IRN At home

Post by surferdon »

Well i gave in today at the pet store, i saw this beautiful IRn getting picked on by these IRN's who are my Current IRn( dude) brothers and sisters. The IRn is green and was the one i was originally going to get but i loved the blue IRN. HIs Feathers were getting picked and the bird was really stressed out so i had to get him outta there. I got him for $60 US so he will be a gift to my girl friend as soon as his feathers grow back and his stress goes down. Should i let My two Irn's meet to see if they like each other? Also What would i get if in the future i bred a green cock with a blue hen? I ll be sure to post pics soon!

Nice looking blue IRN you got there dude! Not too much greyish wash on the feathers.

It is still breeding season so you may want to put them in separate cages for now. I don't know the age and sex of your birds but breeding age IRNs can get pretty hostile especially the females. Put their respective cages adjacent to each and observe if they show affinity to each other.

If you breed a Green male and a Blue female, you will get all Green visual babies but they will all be carrying the Blue gene in split.

so i should wait to introduce them, i mean put them like on he same play pen or on the floor or shower perch? Also he is a friendly yet nervous bird, everytime you hold him he starts to chew on his foot or feathers how do i correct this behavior?
