Hi, I didn't think my IRN could lay eggs unless there were 2 of them. I recieved her,Baby, when my grandma was put in a home. She has had her for about 10 years. I was cleaning her cage and found an egg that was broken. I know this may sound silly but, how does she lay an egg when theres no male with her.
Hi,
I am not for sure of the exact answer, but a hen can lay without a male. If you do not intend to breed her, don't worry about it. If you see any more eggs remove them, otherwise she might try to hatch them. Hopefully, she has not been more aggressive because she laid eggs. Perhaps someone else can elaborate more on why this is possible, but I have heard of it before. Sorry I am not much help!

Any Indian Ringneck or other parrot can lay "false" eggs without a male bird. And only the females at that. Your Baby, is now definitely a female parrot. Don't worry about it, when she's done laying, just throw the eggs away or you can even keep them as souveniers. If it does become a problem over time and she just won't stop laying, i'd suggest you call on your avian veterinarian.
