Bathing behaviours

Post by elaine »

I was just curious what other peoples birds do in their bath. I just had to get a bigger bath, my baby used to just dip his head and shake but now he literally sits in it, laying his belly and face in the water, he then gets out, shakes and then returns, all in complete silence though. He seems to really enjoy his bath but the way he does it has changed. Could this be cos he has gotten a little older? How do your birds bathe?

Your birds are so gorgeous. My son has a budgie, 3 years old, but only bobs his head in the water and shakes it around. My irn used to do that but now loves to get right in and splashes his whole body in the water.

See how because bappy was clipped she would always sit on the edge and dip her front in. She NEVER actually jumped in. All the others jump in and splash around, bappy never has.
