My IRN are Mating

Post by GreenMinded »

Greetings!

My IRN pair is copulating already (I saw them twice, this week). My problem is that they are still young, the male IRN is just 16 month old while the hen is 14 month old. Should I separate them or give them a nestbox? Kindly help.

Is it possible that the Hen is already carrying their eggs since they are mating already.

If I'm going to let them, how soon will the Hen lay the egg(s)? What important food nutrients should I give?

Hoping for your HELP.

Ringnecks *can* breed at 1 year, though it's not really reccomended, It may put a strain on the hen and alot of the times the eggs are infertile.

I'll leave this one for Jeremy :) I dont know if it would be too late or not.
