Ok, so everyone who read my post about my Byndi wolf whistliing knows how excited I was. Well..... Mr. Moody has only wolf whistled MAYBE twice since I posted that. I try so hard every night to get him to and he just won't do it. Last night I managed to get him to wolf whistle ONCE. And I was so excited I asked my husband like four times if he heard it. Fiinally John just looked at me, shook his head, and said he heard it. Why is he doing this?? Is this just yet another example of Byndi being a punk or do a lot of them do this?? All I want is a little love from this bird! I don't think I'm asking too much! He probably has the best time making fun of me in bird language. They're all probably laughing it up at my expense. "Make her wolf whistle some more Byndi. Act like you might do it. Let's see how many times she'll do it. Stupid human." And all we hear is.... chirp, chirp, chirp--of course that would be Milo. With Remmi and Byndi bird talkin' it would be more like CHIRP, SCREAM, CHIRP! Ok so I know I'm a big nerd! And I'm ok with it.
Maybe he's ready to learn the next thing. Mine will do that, pick something up, do it a bit, then drop it while they learn the newest.
Try clucking your tongue at him. Buddy loves that. He'll cluck at me to get my attention, wolf whistle, and then start in with the ringneck love calls LOL.
So what exactly is the ringneck love call? I'm trying to figure out what all these sounds are. That's why I asked if anyone could tell me what they thought the noises my babies were making on the latest videos I posted were. I don't know what a contact call is, car alarm sound, alert call. I just don't know what you guys are referring to. So...
I think the love call is more of a growly meow. where as the alarm call is the same note repeated over and over and over. If I can get Jay to extract the audio from a video I'll upload it and you can hear it exactly
I didn't know they had a love call!!! Chook has his own 'come hither' whistle he uses just for me - usually when he is bored and wants attention and/or food.
Chook will also only speak when my son Lonnie is around. I don't know why, but he does.
My Sunny girl has learned to say 'hey goin' which is her version of 'how are ya goin' which is what i say every morning. Funny thing is that she is the only one out of all of my birds that has picked it up.
As i said before - shrunken humans in feathered pyjamas
ok here it is I hope. There is a little bit of "love call" mixed in there. Which is anything thats not CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP, so when he startss going rooowr and stuff is the male call.
Thanks Neo! That's great! My guys make similar sounds. So how do you record just the sound like that? I'd like to do that and have you guys give it a listen and see what you think it might be.
Ah hehe that wasnt fun. I had to rip the audio out of a video that I had from a long time ago. thats why it took so long. But to do it easy just hook a mic into your computer and find a simple wav recording program. Some sound cards come with that sort of software.
