I live in the UK and the weather has been awefull this year. The sun has just started to come out now and just wanted to know if its okay to take my Cheeko in the garden to get some well deserved sun light and heat??
I know these birds come from extreme weather conditions but just wanted to know for sure.
What is the best way?
How long should a IRN be in the SUN Light?

They love being outside just make sure you cover one part of the cage to offer some shade. And of course plenty of water
I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way

Yeah i finally took the cage outside yesterday and he LOVED IT.....he was abit surprised though as in the UK you dont get much sunlight often. Would take him today but its its alittle windy.
Just wondering.....he came out of the cage today....(hes done this a few times) He starting to flap his wings really really fast for like a minute or longer. ANy reasons why this might be? He is a male for sure....but still alittle scared of me yet....

Just stretching his wings or he may have a loose feather he's trying to dislodge.

Sanjay has a UV lamp, his own personal sunshine!, I used to have his cage near the window but I was concerned in case the sun would be too hot for him.

I agree. I would think that the bird would appreciate visiting the outdoors as often as you can manage it.
Cautions would be
*protect from loss (lock the cage)
*protect from sun (offer an option to go under good bit of shade)
*provide cooling option (offer plenty water for drinking and bathing)
*protect from physical threats (guard against predators and insect pests)
And also, monitor the bird to ensure he still is happy out there and don't forget to bring him back in!
