Screaming

Post by lola13 »

I've had my Lola for two months now. And ever since I got my Macaw she keeps having screaming fits and making loud noises. I don't think she's bored as she's got plenty of toys and foraging toys. I'm still trying to offer her treats but she's having none of it. She's still very frightened and breathes in heavy whenever I go near the cage. Is she jealous? I still adress her first when I come into the room.

You may want to try to catch her when she is being quiet, then go into the room, just ignore the racket as much as you can. Try to extend the quiet time before entering the room.

She could be jealous, but she could also be scared of a Macaw. I've seen birds in a pet store with two baby Macaws and ALL of the other birds avoid being close to the Macaw.

Keep trying with the treats... drop them in her food bowl if she says doesn't take it... and keep trying.

Ellie.
