I got my blue IRN named 'Dot' 4 weeks ago. It hatched on the 10/09/12, making it just a little over 7 months old. I'm unsure of the gender as of yet (decided to just wait and see if it develops a dark ring or not) but for the purposes of not wanting to call Dot an 'it', I've taken to calling it a she.
She was hand raised, is happy to come out of the cage and has started to let me pet her back and head in the past couple of weeks. Still rather nippy, but I try my very hardest not to show any reaction when she bites (as hard as that is with the marks all over my hands and forearms haha).
This is where my question comes in. In the past couple of days she has started this thing where she will lick my hands, kind of like she is giving little kisses. Then when she sees fit, she will bite. But it isn't a normal bite; she will keep biting until there is a small fold of skin in her beak, then she will bite a little chunk out and eat it! I'm really not sure why she has started doing this and I'm sure you can appreciate that it is EXTREMELY hard to ignore.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you stop the behaviour?
Is this odd behaviour?

Rocky did that once. It was really a "WTF" moment for me. Seriously, did he just carefully remove a piece of my body?!?! But he never did it again.

Dot has done it 3 times in the past couple of days. Crazy Bird!
