Me and my bf got a ringneck.. on friday he'll be with us 2 months already .. he/she is about 6 to 8 months old.
To date we managed to feed Shreky (his / her name) from our hands and bird lets us stroke his head when he's half asleep. When he's fully awake he won't let us touch him.
We took him out of the cage once and he was quite frightened (bumped around the walls..) but we managed to make him step up on finger and put him back in cage. We are teaching him the step up thought he's still not got it 100% right yet. We tried taking him out of the cage again but he seems to prefer staying inside the cage.
We live in a penthouse with a big view of outside.. so every morning around 8 am.. and afternoon around 4.30pm he starts whistling like crazy when he sees birds outside .. he's got such a powerful whistle
Other than that he's a quite bird.. he mumbles sometimes in the afternoon.. perhaps he's practice talking?
he loves his mirror.. in fact i bought him 2 Considering that he has been only 2 months with us I think we are doing good progress. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.. !
