hello i am new to parrots and have been looking into getting two ringnecks, both male. bit nervous as i have never owned one before.
i have two children 7 and 4, :) my little girl is scared of everything, so i want to get her confidence up and my boy is very loving, they can be quite loud at times, really want them to get used to having a pet but i am allergic to cats and dogs and hairy animals :( , just need some help and advice, my husband is so logical about space and food prices he is making me very nervous, :? are males easier to handle then females, would like a proper holding affectionate pets that loves us as much as we will love them xxx :)

Just a quick note regarding allergies. Birds produce dander (sort of like birdie dandruff). When mine have been sitting on me and preening, I will end up with white flecks all over me. Some bird breeds get more dander than others. I _think_ IRNs are mid-range in the dander-producing stakes, but I'm not sure. You may want to check to see if you are allergic to dander.
