hello i am new to parrots and have been looking into getting two ringnecks, both male. bit nervous as i have never owned one before.
i have two children 7 and 4, my little girl is scared of everything, so i want to get her confidence up and my boy is very loving, they can be quite loud at times, really want them to get used to having a pet but i am allergic to cats and dogs and hairy animals , just need some help and advice, my husband is so logical about space and food prices he is making me very nervous, are males easier to handle then females, would like a proper holding affectionate pets that loves us as much as we will love them xxx
Just a quick note regarding allergies. Birds produce dander (sort of like birdie dandruff). When mine have been sitting on me and preening, I will end up with white flecks all over me. Some bird breeds get more dander than others. I _think_ IRNs are mid-range in the dander-producing stakes, but I'm not sure. You may want to check to see if you are allergic to dander.
