Taming my IRN

Post by Jessica38 »

Hi all, my name is Lisa and I have just recently rescued an untamed IRN. Her name is Jessica (i named her) she is gorgeous and powder blue in colour. She is very shy and jumpy and just recently noticed that she had a ring on her right leg that was so tight it was cutting into her skin. This was successfully removed and treated. Poor baby was in so much pain and discomfort. She has a few feathers missing too from her head and chest where she'd been plucking, but since having her she hasnt plucked once(from what I can tell). I want to give her everything and give her so much love affection and was wondering if there is anyone who can help with some advice on training her. I do have other birds including a 6 month old african grey who is just delightful and totally hand tame. Jessica is said to be around 18 months old, so is still young. If someone can help then please do not hesitate to contact me as all advice will be much welcome xx Thankyou xx

I'm so glad you noticed the band, she could have lost her foot. :O/ Since you have/had other birds you I'm sure you know that slow and easy to earn her trust is the way to go. :O)

I'm getting a baby African Grey and might be able to pick him up next week.
