First words figured out!!!!!!!!

Post by Mikaela »

Finally! My Lord I am so excited right now I cant even type fast enough.

After weeeeeks of practicing this phrase Baby has FINALLY gotten it down! It was SO frustrating trying to figure out what she wanted to say. Now, she is very confident about it and it loving the attention!

Ok here is how it started (for those with babies and patiently waiting).

At first everyone was convinced it was 'Peek-a-Boo', her sisters name.
Nope

Then as she got better at it, it was absolutely 'girl' something so we knew it wasnt 'Peek-a-Boo (although she may be saying that too but is loving her new words better so stopped practicing Peek-a-Boo).

I was pretty positive it was 'good girl' and thought it was very cute for her 'first words'... words YOU KNOW are words.

Then lastnight she was playing in her cage roughly as to make noise to get my attention. I call to her from the couch 'what you doin girl' and lord have mercy... plain as day! Out comes 'good girl, come 'er girl'.

That is what I say when approaching her cage, always have as not to spook her. She wanted out! She wanted out badly enough to say the phrase that pays lmao.

My husband, who is so not into animals (be weary of those types  ) seriously, is now all into her. He never believed she would talk or anything. He would always say 'she is just making noise, aint trying to talk, aint no maccaw'

He turned around from the computer and said 'Did you hear that'? And we both were like

This is so exciting. For weeks she has been practicing really hard. Then bloop, out it came.

I am really beginning to wonder if her having WAY more cage time because I have been sick had anything to do with her finally getting a word out. She was always on me before, never had time to practice or any reason too.

Then again, she isnt even a yr so she is on track I suppose. I feel like I waited 10 yrs to hear what her first words were going to be.

That is a 5 word phrase though. Doesnt that seem a little odd going from gibberish to phrases, rather than words?

Also, if they start in phrases, does that mean they usually have a higher vocabulary or no research shows such?

And lastly, she does the wolf whistle sometimes beforehand. My husband said it would be so cool if she ended up 'a dude' and did the wolf whistle then 'Good Girl, Come 'er Girl'. I said 'yeah bet you and her would be spending alot more time together... park, movies,'. Nothing gets a girls attention faster than an animal.

Especially an animal that solicits such attention lol.

A little bummed it wasnt 'Hey Baby', really thought it would be.

I'll get a sound file out ASAP. Still running on empty and only sleeping in 2-4 hr spurts from my battle with the RX situation then contracting the flu. I have tried very very very very hard not to lose any weight but sadly wasnt successful. My bones stick out on my wrists... looks pretty nasty. Like a Kate Moss before rehab hehe.

Ack you were already skinny, go get some maccas or something ;p

THAT IS SOOO AWESOME that baby is talking now. See I told ya you KNOW when your bird is tryin to talk. It's not the same as birdie chatter.

Cant wait for that sound file. And it even sounds like she is saying it in context (as in she wants out when you usally say it before she gets let out)
so awesome.

Thats so awesome Mik. :D , can't wait to hear the sound file either.

<stomps her feet! and starts to make tears!> I want my babies to talk.

I know kai chatters his damn head off and every now and then I hear three clicks (which is what I do before I say I love you) and then what sounds like is "I love you" but its really just three squeaks. He wolf whistles like a charmer, and can even do the slow motion drawn out wolf whistle that I took great fun in teaching him. But words, not yet.

Jordan makes similar cute noises to datsun, nothing like kai's elaborate sounds.

Sigh! waiting for my day of excitement.

But I am sooooo wrapped for you Mikaela :D

I'm happy for you Mikaela! My babies don't even whistle anything. I'm hoping they'll talk one of these days. I'd be lying if I said I didn't. Now if they don't I won't love them any less. But I'd be thrilled to no end if they do talk!
