Hi

Post by williesgirl »

Hi,
I'm a newbie to birds but have a horse, dog, cat, turtles and 8 fish tanks  . My older son has a sheep, cat and dog. My youngest only had a horse and started hassling for a parrot at 18 mnths. He would make traps on the lawn 3 times a week and cry when he didn't catch one :( .
Shayne (oldest boy) saved up for a german shepherd puppy and Blake(younger boy) decided to change parrot catching method after 2 years!. He started saving his $1 pocket money a week, so for his 4th birthday he got a ringneck named tonka :P . Now i'm hooked and my husband is muttering divorce threats if we get anymore pets this year (I catch him trying to get tonka to talk when he thinks I'm not around) Maybe for his birthday we could get him a pet :P

Tonka... LOVE THE NAME

Takes me back to child-hood where the ones we had were metal and one good wacking from one of those would send any fella running.

Welcome to the board. Its priceless.

Tonka, LOVE IT!

Thats a great story. It's wonderful that your kids could save up and buy what they want and they stuck to it enough to do it. I cant imagine growing up without pets.

Tonka is green. we chose the name for that reason. he looks like a little tank and its a great name for a boys pet that will still be a cool name as they age together unlike the sheep named brum brum and fish named herpies :?
Feel free to s teal the name we would be proud for tonka to be a namesake. lets face it some of our other pet names aren't likely to be copied :P

All I ever call my baby is Baby so her name is Baby.

I should think of a proper name though.

Prinny was named because she acted like a little Princess ever since she hatched! Always better than her siblings so the name stuck
