Hello to all. I just brought an Indian Ringneck home today. He bit me lots as I was transferring him to his cage but he is beautiful. We named him Zazu Falcon (I have 4 children and this was the combination). I say he just cause it's easier to just pick a gender at this point. He is about 4 months old and the breeder said that he was hand fed but that he has been nippy recently. So I will go slow with him. Zazu is a very pretty grey color. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater

HELLO and WELCOME! Congratulations on your new addition! If I may suggest something ( I am a new bird owner myself, but also have 4 kids) try to keep the little ones away for a little while, at least a couple of days. Just so he can settle peacefully. If your little ones are like ours they're ready to touch and poke and feed.lol. Your bird will get used to the noise and running around and playing after awhile. Our birds barely flinch when kids go running by or someone falls with a boom.lol. I'm sure the more experienced owners will say hi and offer advice...Any questions just post and many will answer. This forum is good for giving advice on care. Congratulations again!

I have made them stay back from her cage they are allowed to talk to her but they aren't to pick. She is very unhappy with me. She has drawn blood and left lots of beak bites on my fingers. She is beautiful and in time I am sure she will warm up.

Sorry to hear about your slow start. Do you know your bird's favourite foods? You could start by offering these through the cage bars?
