Introducing a new bird

Post by SuperSimoholic »

We have a 6 year old female Ringneck, who is not exactly tame, and we were offered another 3 year old tame female.

Will they be ok together? Is it dangerous to keep two females together? will the tame one pick up bad habits?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

My understanding is that two females will not got along. Two males will usually get along. Are you talking about cohabitating? If so, I wouldn't recommend it. At the very least you would probably need to separate them during breeding season.

Ok, thank so much!
Yeah, we were thinking of keeping them in the same cage but now obviously we know not to!

Thanks again!

Hi, I have all my birds in a large avairy and only separate at breeding time. I have four hens and four males, two of my males are handraised to which one talks and bits when you try and feed him and the other one when i am in the avairy flys straight on me and doesn't leave my shoulder.
