Hi there,
Does any one know the compatibility between a quaker and a ringneck?
We want to find a buddy for our lovely ringneck, however, we don't want to find any ringneck just in case they will bond to each other too much that will ignore us. So we brought a baby quaker as a buddy for this little bird and put them into 2 separate cage facing each other.
So far so good, however, just want to know if they will fight will each other if they put closely together.
We tried to buy a sort of baby conure as a buddy for the ringneck, however, the conure is too aggressive. Everytime they close to 20 cm, the conure jumped and attacked the ringneck even tho it is small... :S
Therefore, we got a really small quaker (not even opened its eye) and hope that it won't attack the ringneck when it grows up.

You never know if they get along until you try. It is possible that they can be friends. Keep them near each other and see what happens. How old is the Quaker? Are you hand feeding it yourself?
What kind of conure did you have? Do you still have the conure or did you have to rehome him or her?
I have two conures and one of them landed on my IRN s cage and the IRN wanted to bite the conures feet. I will make sure the cage is covered when my conures are out for their fly. I don't want no missing toes.
Good luck with your birds.

Yeah, I am keeping them near each other and see what happens, the quaker is just 7 months old and I handfed it myself.
The conure is a mix, I rehome her already and her new owner seems to care her alot by sending me emails about how to treat her nicely.
Yeah, same thing happened on my budgies, my quaker bite their toes without our attention, this is why we brought another bird as a companion for her...
however, the conure is so mean to her and she chickened out. lol
