will my IRN ever talk

i have had my IRN for a year now, she is about 2 years old. she does two whistles but has never talked.. will she ever talk or do females not talk?? Also if they do what is the best way to teach her to talk??

With IRNs, sex does not effect if they will talk or not. The best way to encourage talking is by talking with her. A lot of birds will prefer to whistle if you whistle to them.

Some birds will never talk, others will talk quite suddenly. Most parrots talk for attention, so once you get them started it is easy to continue. Hane doesn't say much, but I also don't say much to him! I am a quiet person so we're quiet together. :)

ohk thanks, i will try talking and whistling more, she has already leant two whistles so hopefully she will learn more :D

I have had my IRN for twenty years and it has never spoken, that being said, he has a whole bunch of different whisels and noises that he makes. There is no question that he communicates with me. certain noises & sounds he uses for letting me know what wants or what his mood is. I gave up on the talking thing.
