Bluffing...
Just registered here. Theres probably many posts about this topic. But what i'm just wondering, what do you to make him stop biting you? blow in his face when he's about to bite? My bird hasn't got to this stage yet, hopefully he doesn't cuz he's a sweet bird. I want answers from experienced owners lol. I've had two birds for the past nine years, but i heard Ringnecks are different lol. The bluffing stage kind of scares me

Aw, don't let it scare you! Believe me, most parrots go through this stage but it tends to be more associated with the ringneck parrots. I have several and i can tell you it's not bad at all. I have two wonderful females and 1 male and i survived

The key is just ignoring any unwanted biting. No need to say "No, bad bird!" Just simply ignore it. It sounds funny but make no eye contact as well. Simply pick the bird up and pretend the biting never happened. Your voice should only be used for rewards, greetings, or happy times--nothing more. Should you get bitten, simply distract with a toy or blow on its face
I hope this helps! But remember one important thing--not all ringnecks go through this stage and the level of bluffing is different for EVERY bird--so you might not have this problem at all. No need to stress yourself out for something that might not happen
.
Hope this helps.
