i dont know if somethings wrong!

Post by baby_bella »

hey all, oh i have missed you guys all so much i havent been on for a while things have been abit busy at home! ive been reading through the old posts and seeing what i have missed! but anyway back to my baby, well i woke up this morning and to my dissmay i think she may have dierroha, her droppings are quite watery and the green poo in the middle is quite sloppy (sorry for the freighting detail  ) i havent fed her anything diffrent????? does any one have any ideas to what could be going on?
should i be worried? she seems really normal today and her usally cuddly self.
also another question, my friend (lil_bailey) jemma is coming over today and we were thinking cause our biries are clutchmates if she could bring her IRN over too.. is this wise or will it bring disease? wil they fight or remeber each other? they have been seprated for about 5 weeks.., thanks guys

I wouldn't worry about the poo situation! If she is happy and acting the same, she should be fine. If her little feet are cold or her beak is really cold, then you might get her checked but otherwise, don't worry. Chook ate a whole tomato this morning and you should see his poo! Disgusting! (serves the little bugger right because he stole it).

I wouldn't worry about socialising your littly either. When Chook was little I used to go to my Aunty's house with him. She had budgies and Chook loved to chase them around and steal their toys. Unless you are really worried about diseases, then I don't think there's a problem. If the birds do start beaking and it gets serious, just separate them for 'time out'. If its just a little bit of beaking over a choice piece of food or a toy, then its okay.

Funny thing about that. Sometimes I'm not too sure. Chook's clutch mates are Yellowy and Greeny who are both girls (secretly we think they are lesbians because they do a lot of feeding and preening of each other!) But they weren't hand raised, they were left with their parents. Chook looks at them like they are aliens and can't wait to get away from them. They are the same to him too. BUT then I have Chuckles and Sunny who have just turned one, I hand raised them (and Chook hated it because I was spending a lot of time with them and not him) and when I go out to the aviary with Chook, he will play fight with Chuckles and they beak each other, and he mooches up to Sunny and preens her. Sometimes I wonder whether he actually remembers them but then I don't know why he doesn't remember his own sisters? Maybe because they weren't handraised and Chuckles and Sunny were? I'd love to research it some more.

Hane and Tsume were raised together (handfed from 3 1/2 weeks) and not separated until just after weaning. And they don't get along very well at all. Hane is the bully (poor Tsume). My bird has bad manners...

On different days Hane's poo will go from brown to green to yellow depending what he eats.

Tomatoes aren't reccomended for birds, because of the high acidity in them. Not like it'll kill them, it's just not reccomended. -shrug-

I don't ever actively feed my babies tomatoes. Its just that Chook saw Mr Tomato sitting there with his big happy smiley face and decided to destroy him. It basically sums up Chooks personality in one go!

Watching poo is very important. Not fun but something we all have to do but I think we get a little carried away with it. Watch your poo, is it the same eachtime?

In short, as long as the bird is acting normal, dont give it a second thought. However, keep a good eye on him or her until it isnt so runny.

Ya'll know how I am about my babies. But, somedays their poo is practically water (rarely) but as long as they are acting like themselves I dont give it a second thought.

As long as the birds don't have watery poo all day then I don't worry. It changes consistancy every twenty minutes, lol, for them. xDDD

For dogs you can give real canned pumpkin for both constipation and diarrhea. But for birds, I don't know. Guess I could look it up. ^^

Okay, just sharing info then, about tomatoes, lol.
