I got Chief and Baby from the same breeder and they are both happy birds. I know that they play, pet and love even their budgies as much as their Macaws.
They have different personalities but the same foundation. If that makes any sense. They act differently but both come to you knowing basic rights and wrongs and both act the same when praised or gotten onto. Probably from watching the flock as babies.
Very interesting question. As far as cuddly and not, Baby isnt Chief is but baby is a ringneck and chief is a 'tiel. That, more than anything, proably accounts for the difference.

I too got a pair of ringnecks that were clutchmates, both hand raised by me after three weeks, both totally different personalities.
Growls was outgoing and curious about everything. Swift just hid under Growls and was very timid. Both grew up to be tame happy birds, every bird has it's own personality.

All are different, Kai stood out from his sibbling birds when I went to choose him from the breeders. He was the only one to come to the side of the cage and nibble me gently. There were some that came and bit at me, some flew to the trainer and took treats from him and others that hid in the corner in the dark looking petrified, all were immediately & distinctly different.
Now approx 2 months on, my Kai has two very distinct moods. One very playful and naughty, trying to keep away from me one day, then cuddly and loveable and very obedient and attentative to me other days.
So Different again.
Just like my 3 kids, all totally!!!!!!! different to the other.
As maturity comes I expect the personality will be very dynamic. How exciting
.. best try to keep the upper
and with Kai too
hehehe
Cheers ! and Enjoy your baby

I'm the neat freak, and my sis is the slob. ^_~
Our birds, Hane and Tsume, are brothers and are NOTHING alike. Hane is confident and eats a lot, lol (lucky if he comes up for air). While Tsume is a little scaredy-bird who eats voraciously but very little.
They react to all things differently, Tsume loves swings and Hane hates them. Weird things like that.
So it's not odd to have sibling parrots who are nothing alike.
