Here's your basket case again needing words of encouragement. I'm just so frustrated. And I'm beginning to regret getting Byndi. I really have no emotional attachment to him cuz I can't have any freakin' contact with him. And I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOO INCREDIBLY GUILTY for feeling this way and hopefully none of you HATE me for admitting that. But it's the truth. Once again today when I went to change his water and food he clung to the back cage bars like he thought I was going to kill him. This just really gets me down. Please don't hate me. I don't want to give up. But I just don't know what to do. I can't get a perch in the cage and keep him on it. So I can't get him to step up. Oh I am just so frustrated. See?? There needs to be someone who does this for a living. There should be someone you could call and go thru obedience training like you do with your dog. I would go to classes in a heart beat. Or hire someone to come to my house and work with us. But... That doesn't exist. I'm just at my ropes end today. AGAIN. You guys are going to get sick of me and be done with me soon. But...

Just a suggestion. A breeder would trade you out right for a baby. It is your bird and your life. If you have given it your all and know that in your heart, do what you need to do.
Some birds are simply NOT GOOD PETS. Peek-a-Boo for example, would make a much better breeder bird. At least I had the nads to say it.
Although I love Peek-a-Boo, I would NEVER buy a bird over 3-6 months old. EVER.
I hate to admit it, but I think that Mikaela is right. Although I would just keep him still in case he doesn't go to a good home. Have him as a cage friend.

There are avian behavioralists that one can hire to come to their homes and help train their bird, but I don't know if you have one in the area.
www.birdtricks.com boasts videos to help train birds who are frightened or cage bound. I've never used it, but I have no reason to believe it doesn't work as Chet says it does.
I have a headache right now, so I'm not thinking so straight. I'll shut up now.
