Hi, I just bought home my first IRN, he/ she is 11 weeks old and we have named him( we think) Petrie! He is the most cutest, loud, sooky, stubborn little bird! He wakes up every morning and schreeches! Especially when he hears me open the microwave to warm his food! He is eating mushed up pellets, potato, peas, carrots, spinach and apple. Wierd mix, but he seems to love it! He loves being with anyone, he loves the mirror, loves jumping in any sink while water is running! He hates toes! He will charge at your toes and bite them! Thanks to my partner! If anyone has this bad habit, how do we now deter him from attacking out toes!?! Petrie doesn't really like us touching him, he often leans away, like he is avoiding touch. He never has bitten us, other than our toes. I have read that I need to try opening up his wings and let him become familiar with human touch but he seems to hate it? On the other hand, he loves sitting on our shoulders and will find us in another room I we leave him. He even comes to the door when I hang washing outside and I dont take him. Will he warm up to us more? I have had him for 3 weeks?
