Hi all, I'm new here. I have purchased my first IRN and will collect the bird in 8 days once it's out of the nest. I'm sure many of you have been in my situation before, hence the reason for my post. I'm looking for tips, advice or stories that did or didn't work for you.
I have done a fair bit of reading on the IRN's, I have heard how bad of a pet they are, how good of a pet they are, how fussy eating they are and how they will eat anything. It seems there is not much research on these little gems, or accurate findings.
All in all I just want your first few week experiences, problems and or tips so I can make the introduction of our new family member a seamless and pleasurable experience for all involved.
Awaiting my first IRN, what now?

HEllo ive never owned a bird from as young as your getting your irn is it over 3weeks old? will you still have hand feed it? the younger you get a bird the better a bond can be as with any animal. make sure everyone handles the bird everyday so you try to prevent ir bonding to close to one person . with it being so young you could hold it close and scratch the nape of the gentle and give it treats learn it to get used to your hands , your forceing it to be close to you and you will get bit but it will get less hard because it will learn you treat it and cuddle it . when it gets a bit older you wont be able pick it up but get it to step up.
