I got my first bird. An IRN!!!

Post by chase_smallwood »

I did my research before I bought my bird. But I'm going to ask these questions just in case. I bought the bird today Is still young I am hand feeding. I hand fed the bird at the breeder and it was very calm and didn't bite.

When we got home I left it alone for several hours. But I have to feed it and it is aggressive. I'm sure this is normal since of the stress from the move, but I just want to be reassured. I am assuming that with the three times a day feeding I will be doing I will build its trust in time.

Any info is appreciated on what I should and shouldn't be doing right now.

Hi there

I breed ringnecks and sell them. May I ask for a more defined age? When my babies are on 3 feeds a day its normally up to about 6 weeks or so and then I start reducing the feeds. The reason I asked for a more defined age is because every week they go through different stages in their personality.

Regards

I'm not exactly sure the age. But there is only one small spot just below back of neck that doesn't have feathers. She said to feed three time a day for one more week.

Your baby is probably about 6 and a half weeks or so old, going on 7 weeks. When you say he is aggresive, does he make like a 'growling' noise and shy away from you, or does he actually lunge toward you?
