Hello, i purchased what i thought to be a female irn from a breeder, i even have a dna certificate; however, i can't get close enough to check its band against the cert.
Pretty sure its a male because of the constant dance and wing show its doing in front of the mirror and for me. lol.
Its eyes pin and it goes tall with its wings in a heart shape position trying to feed seeds to things on its cage.
I don't care either way if its a male or female but i have been referring to it as a female. lol if its not i would like to correct myself now.
Is there a dance the female does that's identical to all the male "you tube" videos i see of peoples males doing mating dances or did they mix my bird up?
It is 6 months old now.

Re: my irn
I have had young females display like males in their first year but they can grow out of it. You will need to catch it up to look at the band properly.

Also, DNA tests can occasionally be inaccurate but it's not likely.
