infertile eggs

i have a male and female yellow irns, male is now 4 yrs old and female is 3.since dec 2004 female has laid five clutches totalling 22 eggs and not one has been fertile.last clutch was 5 starting 7 dec 2005.these were removed 6 jan after being candled.should i remove nesting box as she just keeps laying eggs every 2 to 3 months? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you had them vet checked to be sure both birds are fertile? She could have a problem, or he could... best to be 100% before breeding any bird.

I'd remove the nestbox myself until I was sure it was there for a reason. You dont want her to get calcium deficient.

Take the box out and don't put it back in until 1-2 weeks prior to the breeding season.
The reason for infertile eggs? It could be anything. The birds age must be taken into consideration but at 3-4 years old, Ringnecks are in their prime as far as breeding goes.
I think the problem is, they aren't even mating. If you take the box out, give them a rest, and then put it back in just before the start of the season, you should get fertile eggs.

thanks for advice. As far as breeding is concerned, they are kept indoors and have the run of the room and are at it in front of people all the time. Can anybody tell me when the start of the breeding season is in the UK when kept indoors.
