new arrival/s

Post by Hodge »

Hi
as mentioned in introductions section, Ive lost my good friend Ringo in august and am now thinking of adopting another.
the local petshop has 2 (5 & 6 weeks, grey & yellow) they're both hand reared & very healthy

I only wanted 1 but on seeing these two I had a sad feeling about separating them thus entertaining the idea of having both
I'm wondering what scenarios I will face down the track when their unknown sex becomes apparent, will they get on in the same cage depending on whether they're same sex or opposite, will there be jealosy issues ?

having their own companionship will they still love me as Ringo did ?

theres so many ifs & buts, its making me very apprehensive about the whole thing

cheers
Bryan

If you bring home both, I would recommend caging them separate but side by side. That way the see each other and when out of the cage can play and socialize without becoming overly bonded to one another. If they do become overly bonded, you could lose your relationship with them both. I have 2 birds that are caged separately and I have a great relationship with both. :-D
